Quantities and Estimates.
Mr Price informs
me that he has already submitted an approximate estimate of the cost. of the dam and outlet works which he calculates at £55,000, but as this estimate is based
on the assumption that the rubble me
masonry dam will be laid in Chinese Lime mortar, except for the ten feet nearest the reservoir- face where he contemplated using Cement, I am of opinion for the reason given in paragraph 19 that it should be supplemented by another £8500 with a view to encebling Portland Cement to be substituted for Chinese Lime mortar throughout.
